Thank you again to all of you who participated in the Cultural Arts Festival this week! I was so proud to show off your talented voices and also very proud to show our community the beautiful diversity that we at Ivy Hill enjoy!
Kindergarten - We are polishing up our songs for the May show!
1st - We explored 3 music videos on Fantasia and Fantasia 2000. We watched "The Sorcerer's Apprentice", the Finale from "The Carnival of the Animals", and "The Steadfast Tin Soldier".
2nd - We sang and danced to songs with different musical forms this week. Ask them how we turned ourselves inside out and backwards!
3rd - We are practicing full run-throughs of our show and making sure everyone has a costume.
4th - We finished watching Mozart's "The Magic Flute". Hopefully the 4th graders have learned that opera can be very enjoyable!
5th - We tackled two new dances for the 5th grade show.
On a personal note, my surgery is on Tuesday. I will take off the rest of the week and plan on returning on Monday, the 18th. I thank you again for the cards, gifts, emails, hugs and prayers!
