1st Grade - We sang two songs in honor of Martin Luther King this week. We continued to have fun with our silly penguin song, and the children have memorized the names of the first several presidents!
2nd Grade - We are rehearsing for our February 27 show called "Kids are Kids the Whole World Round". Information about this show can be found at the top of this blog under the 2nd grade show tab.
3rd Grade - The students are taking turns playing Staff Wars. This free on line game gives students an exciting way to practice naming notes on the staff in treble clef. We are continuing to practice and memorize a song that lists all 50 states in alphabetical order. We also spent some time making musical connections with King's "I Have a Dream" speech.
4th Grade - We finished up our Nutcracker ballet unit with an entertaining video of Mother Ginger. Now it is time to dive into more instrument playing!
5th Grade - We are rehearsing for the 5th grade show. The students are voting for their 5th grade t-shirts this week. Next week they will select their size and I will place the order. Pictures of these shirts are posted on Edmodo.
