st Grade - We jumped right into music this week by echoing rhythm patterns, singing our names and playing the African drums.
nd Grade - The Ivy Hill School song was our first song to sing this week! We practiced echoing rhythms and singing in solfege. We then started playing the drums. The name game is a favorite game to play on the tubanos!
rd grade - These students have remembered a lot from last year! Their rhythms are sharp and their singing voices are beautiful. We also played the name game on the tubanos and enjoyed creating and adding other unique percussion sounds.
th Grade - This week the students previewed their 4th grade show. it is called "Summer Camp". This show will be performed for parents on Wednesday, October 22 t 9:45 AM. Information about auditions will go home next week. I will also be asking for volunteers to help me with costumes and scenery.
th Grade - We started the year by reviewing rhythms and melodies. I had the students fill out a short survey so that we could begin discussing colors and patterns for the 5th grade t-shirts. We also jumped into some challenging drum patterns. I look forward to a great year with these very talented 5th graders!
