Kindergarten - We created a Halloween sound story using percussion instruments.
1st Grade & 5th Grade - Yes, it's true! We've started our holiday show! These students will be performing together in a wonderful show called "A Pirate's Christmas"! My current 5th graders were pirates in their 2nd grade show. This show is a take-off of that show and was written by the same two men, John Jacobson and Roger Emerson. I sent Roger Emerson an email about us and he wrote back, wishing us good luck with the show! What a sweet man to take the time to write back to us!
2nd Grade - We practiced singing at different dynamic levels with a fun Scarecrow song. We also practiced singing and playing percussion instruments at different tempos with a different Halloween song.
3rd Grade - We played boomwhackers again along with a familiar song, Dry Bones. We also took a close look at dynamic markings, their abbreviations and other music symbols. We applied all of these to a Halloween Night song and even added instruments.
4th Grade - The show is next week! We're just about ready! Please make sure your child has a white shirt, black pants (boys), black tights, socks or leggings (girls) and black socks and shoes. Boys will need a toy sword. The shows will be on Friday at 9:45 and 2:15. Please remember that doors will open 15 minutes before show time.
Thanks for stopping in to say hello on Open House night! I wish I had more time to talk to all of you!
Have a great weekend!
