Week of October 3-6

What a beautiful week! I enjoyed walking to school with many of you on Wednesday!

Kindergarten - No class this week due to SIP day.

1st Grade - We are revisiting a couple of kindergarten Halloween songs and learning a new one called The Pumpkin March. What a joy it is to see your first graders reading so well!

2nd Grade - This week we've been practicing musical canons (rounds). singing a partner song and playing a challenging rhythm game.

3rd Grade - They are my masters of 3/4 time! They are singing a beautiful autumn piece that is in 3 and is also a round. We reviewed tempos with an old spiritual called Dem Bones, and we're preparing to play Boomwhackers next week!

4th Grade - Two more dances for Jaust are learned! We had our first combined practice, too! They sound great!

5th Grade - We are finishing up our unit on vocal ranges while enjoying the voices of Sarah Brightman, Marian Anderson, The Three Tenors, and Samuel Ramey! (Ask your 5th grader who Thurl Ravenscroft is!)

Enjoy your long weekend!
