Kindergarten - We are continuing to prepare for our May show. If your child has a beanie baby, it can be brought to school and left in my room, as long as it is labeled with your child's name. We are using the beanie babies in one of our songs.
st Grade - We previewed the pictures from Candy Cane Lane, sang about Martin Luther King and continued learning more about the presidents. We are up to Abraham Lincoln now.
nd Grade - These children are quick learners! Most songs are nearly memorized and we've started dancing in preparation for our show called "Squirm".
rd Grade - We heard MLK's speech "I Have a Dream" and found that he mentions music 3 times in that speech. We're continuing to practice note reading and some are playing Staff Wars.
th Grade - I am totally enjoyed our Orff Lessons. We are developing a new vocabulary that includes: glockenspiels, metallophones, xylophones, soprano, alto, bass, bordun, open 5ths, broken bordun, cross-over bordun, pentatonic, half steps and whole steps. Here is a YouTube video of Mrs. Galazka's class playing a piece we worked on this week.
th Grade - We are getting familiar with many songs that they will be performing in the 5th grade show. I have posted many YouTube links and lyrics on their Edmodo page.
