Kindergarten - Congratulations to all of my awesome little performers! Their Spring Fling Sing was wonderful!
1st Grade - This week we watched the Rhapsody in Blue cartoon on Fantasia 2000. We also compared and contrasted a book and a CD of Going on a Bear Hunt. We heard loud and soft, fast and slow, high and low.
2nd Grade - We worked very hard this week at making our singing voices match notes on a staff. We worked on making our voices get higher, get lower and stay on the same pitch while reading music.
3rd Grade - We watched a short version of the James Cagney film, Yankee Doodle Dandy. After singing the Cohan medley in the 3rd grade show, it was a nice way to learn more about that very special man.
4th Grade - We began a special assessment that involves playing an Orff instrument. Each child randomly selects a dynamic level and a tempo and then has to improvise a melody while demonstrating both of those musical elements.
5th Grade - This week we had much time together on the stage. The students have learned all the group songs and dances now. We have precious few days left together to polish things. I am confident that these extraordinary students will amaze you with their talents!
Please remember to check the 5th grade show tab on this blog for updates!
