Week of October 7-11

st Grade - We are now rehearsing for the December show called "Flakes"!  I will send home more information about dates, times and costumes soon.  Ask your child what a snirt is!

nd Grade - This week your children started reading music!  It was very exciting to watch them combine their rhythm reading skills along with their new knowledge of pitch and melodic direction.  In addition, the students have done well with singing the autumn partner song.  Singing a song while others sing another song is not easy.

rd Grade - We have been dancing a lot this week to our competition song called "Get Me to the Beat".  We are also comparing different versions of "Dry Bones".

th Grade - We had two rehearsals on the stage with all 4th grade students.  They have an amazing sound and are just about ready to perform for you!  The show is on Wednesday, October 23 at 9:45.

th Grade - I challenged the 5th graders to sing harmony this week.  We are combining and layering different pitches with our voices and the instruments.  They learned a beautiful song called "Music Alone Shall Live" and accompanied themselves.  The lessons in melody and harmony require high levels of thinking.  I am very proud of them!
