Kindergarten - This week we listened and danced to 3 new animals from "The Carnival of the Animals". We heard the silly sounds of chicken, the high and low sounds of a donkey and the bony sounds of dinosaurs.
nd Grade - We are experiencing different musical forms in music class. Some songs are simple with an AB or ABA form. Others are more complicated, such as ABACA and ABACADA. We've listened, sang, danced and created rhythms to experience these different patterns often found in music.
rd - The students have learned 3 dances for their Earth Day show. Auditions for speaking parts were last week. Scripts and rehearsal schedules have been distributed and lunch recess practices are taking place every day.
th Grade - The students are learning how to play our Orff instruments. They are learning lots of new vocabulary words, including glockenspiel, metallophone, xylophone, soprano, alto, bass, pentatonic and ostinato.
th Grade - I had the rare opportunity to work with all of the girls and all of the boys separately this week. They learned the choreography for a song called Fame. A letter is going home today with a lot of important information about this show. I also ask you to consider getting involved in a committee!
