2nd Grade - We spent time this week singing America, Yankee Doodle and a beautiful Veteran's Day song.
3rd Grade - I taught the students the official songs for the United States Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines. We also reviewed God Bless America.
4th Grade - We had the opportunity on Thursday to perform the songs from "We Haz Jazz" to the visiting Futabaki students. We talked about how our National Anthem was written and practiced the words to the first verse.
5th Grade - We reviewed all four verses of The Star Spangled Banner and practiced America, the Beautiful. They are learning a counter-melody for this song.
Celebrating Veteran's Day with patriotic songs has become an important tradition here at Ivy Hill. In addition, it has been my honor to display photographs of Veteran's that are related to Ivy Hill students. Thank you, Veterans! And thank you to all of my students who have a deep appreciation for these heroes in their lives. God Bless America!
