1st Grade - This week we had some fun drumming to Mother Goose nursery rhymes. We also added other instruments from Africa and Mexico to the poems.
2nd Grade - The students worked with partners to create rhythm patterns together. These were performed on the drums and were very creative! We started reviewing music notation as well.
3rd Grade - These students are developing good improvisational skills! It is so much fun to watch a child be creative!
4th Grade - Scripts and lyric sheets have been handed out. We are now adding dances to the songs for the October 22 show.
5th Grade - The students have been learning a very difficult drum circle piece. Playing it correctly demands intense listening and focus. Each day they come I add a new pattern to the music. They are able to play all of it with their eyes closed! Teamwork and cooperation are huge parts of being successful when playing in a drum circle. It's a great experience for everyone.
